Cider Apples

We currently grow 129 acres / 52 hectares of cider apples on contract for Weston’s Cider (Stowford Press) and Thatcher’s Cider (Thatcher’s Gold).

Planting 8 different varieties between 2009 and 2015, the orchards provide the farm with a high-output crop without the need for a traditional crop rotation. Rotationally pruned in the wintertime, the orchards are sprayed at regular intervals during the spring and early summer to limit the impact of Scab and Powdery mildew on the tree and growing crop.

Harvest begins in the 3rd week of September and lasts for 5-6 weeks depending on Mill permit availability.
