Contract Farming

Specialising in combinable crops (winter wheat for feed, winter & spring barley also for feed, winter oilseed rape & spring beans), Contract Farming Agreements (CFAs) represent 100% of our combinable crop area. CFAs are a joint venture agreement between a landowner and T.J. & C.M. Powell Ltd, with the landowner retaining their farming identity, supplying the land and funding the variable costs. T.J. & C.M. Powell Ltd supply all required machinery, labour and management expertise to establish, manage and harvest all combinable crops.

As CFAs are the core part of our business, we have a wealth of experience in their successful operation and management and provide all farming clients with the following:

• Cross Compliance and NVZ administrative support, utilising the skill set of CXCS.
• Support and guidance with Environmental Stewardship implementation utilising off-farm experience, combine yield mapping and on-farm knowledge.
• Red Tractor Combinable Crop Assurance aduit support and compliance.
• Access to all precision farming hardware (T.J. & C.M. Powell Ltd) and software provided by companies such as SOYL & Omnia.
• Grain marketing support and advice, with the Contractor subscribing to ODA Connect for daily & weekly soft commodity trading intelligence.
• Access to YAGRO Analytics TM to benchmark all Agreement variable costs and performance against similar arable farming businesses.
