Environmental Stewardship

With 500 acres / 200 hectares of stewardship, 20% of the farmed area is now in actively manage environmental schemes. With the dual aims of enhancing biodiversity but also reducing farming risk, the schemes are a fundamental part of the farming system. The following options are in place on multiple parcels:

• AB1 – Nectar flower mix
• AB8 – Flower rich margins and plots
• AB9 – Winter bird food
• AB15 – Two-year sown legume fallow
• SW3 – In-field grass strips
